November Update

Lots to report!

“Journalism 101,” won some awards recently! We got, “Best Comedy Short,” at the Silver State Film Festival, and at the Influx Magazine awards, we won best produced screenplay, Best Actor - Female for Hannah Pearlman, and…Best Actor - Male, for yours truly!

We have also been accepted at the Culver City Film Festival! I’m super stoked as it will be showing at one of my favorite LA movie theaters, Cinemark 18 and XD. Our screening will take place on Monday evening, December 5th, 9:30pm, Theater 8, block DDD.

Finally, we have been accepted at the Santa Clarita International Film Festival, from December 8th to 11th. It’ll be at Laemmle NewHall in Santa Clarita, details coming up next week!

My script, “Dirty Girl From Hell,” recently competed in the Sherman Oaks Film Festival, and I had a ball!

This script is without a doubt my favorite thing I’ve ever written. It’s pure silly b horror comedy fun with no axe to grind except for you to forget your troubles for 90 minutes and have a ball watching these two ladies wage war on each other amidst zombies, demons, witches, cannibals, and one f—ked up demented squirrel.

And I hope to coax Rob Bottin out of retirement. This picture will have practical blood and guts effects IN CAMERA, or I’m not making it. Period. We horror fans deserve better.

Anyway, I got to meet some super cool people and watch some fun short films at this festival, and the best part is that I got to give a speech and do a little Q&A about Ursula and Nancy. LESSON; be prepared. I was not. But, here is that speech….once I get a copy of it :)
